The Message

Peace is possible“Every living human being has something wonderful happening inside. Within each person is a supreme beauty. Within each person is peace, joy, the feeling of the heart.
I remind people that life itself is a gift. I encourage people to know that it is possible to open the windows of understanding so they can be fulfilled. I see each human being as complete. Within each one shines a sun so bright that it can make any darkness go away.
What I am proposing is that within each individual is the domain where peace can be found. This is the message that I feel is sorely needed in this world. How important it is for that one message to be accessible to everyone.
More than just words, I offer a practical way to feel the contentment that is already within. My message is neither new nor old—it is timeless. The peace, the contentment that we seek is within. It was, is, and always will be. Now is the time to turn within. What I offer is a gift from one being to another. I want to make this possibility available to people. And if they want to pursue it, I want to help them however I
can.”

The Keys

Many people, as they hear Prem Rawat, uncover the depth behind his words and experience hope and inspiration. While some people feel satisfied just listening, others want to experience for themselves the peace within that he says is possible. For those, he offers a practical way – four techniques he calls Knowledge.
To guide people through the preparation process of receiving Knowledge, Maharaji has produced videos called The Keys.
Before learning these techniques, there is a period of preparation that takes from three to five months. The preparation involves viewing The Keys. These videos clear your doubt and confusion, and answer most of your questions.
There are six Keys. Each one of them is a key point in the preparation. The first five each consist of a presentation by Maharaji and up to twelve hours of supporting video material. Watching these videos helps a person develop the necessary understanding before being taught the techniques of Knowledge

The sixth Key is shown during a special session in which Maharaji teaches the techniques of Knowledge via a video presentation. Such sessions take place throughout the year all over the world.
As of May 2008, Key Six sessions have been held in 621 cities in 67 countries in the last eight years. The Key Six session is available in 68 languages and has been attended by 365,237 people during that period.

The Knowledge

Knowledge
“For those who wish to make peace a reality in their life, i offer inspiration and guidance. What I offer people is not just talk, but a way to go inside and savor the peace that is within. I call it Knowledge.”
“The journey of Knowledge is a journey of self-discovery. What Knowledge makes possible is an enjoyment of life that is independent of circumstances. It is a way to connect to the experience of the self that lies within. Knowledge consists of four techniques that enable a person to turn their attention from the outside to the inside.
It is not imagination or visualization. It is a practical way to focus within to access what is already there. For those who wish to make this journey, I offer to help them prepare to learn the techniques of Knowledge, and I provide ongoing inspiration and guidance for a lifetime of enjoyment.”
The techniques of Knowledge are taught free of charge without regard to a person’s gender, economic or social status, sexual preference, lifestyle, race, religious or ethnic background

The Reality of Hope

The Reality of Hope

Hopefully, we can let go of our problems, troubles, and tribulations, and focus on the one thing that this existence is all about—the one thing that pleases your heart.
We do so much in this world to comply. We are told, “You must comply—this is what being ‘good’ is.” There is so much that we do that we know isn’t real, but we do it because we need to comply. And we have a ton of justifications.

In the sea of unconsciousness, do we allow ourselves to be set adrift? What do we think about? What do we feel? What do we understand? Every day that we exist there is that movement of life inside of us. Everything begins with the fact that we have this existence, we have this life. This is not about creating. This is about understanding our assets.

When you hear the word “possibility,” what does it mean to you? What is possible in your life? What would you like to happen? Think about it—what is it ultimately that you want? Some people say, “I would love to be rich.” What are they trying to get? These are just interim bridges. People do many things for the “thrill” of it. Why can’t a person achieve the same thrill by turning inside, finding the beautiful place within, and enjoying every moment?

True joy. When I say, “Enjoy your life,” I’m not talking about a party. There is a fundamental enjoyment that lies within you. If you practice that, you will get good at it, and your life will change. If you find that your life is a bit like a cobblestone path going bump, bump, bump, this is no accident. Courtesy of you—you have placed the cobblestones.

People think, “No. Somebody else did it.” “God placed the obstacles in my life. Now it is incumbent upon me to overcome them, and I’m having a hard time doing that. Why is God so cruel to have given me so many obstacles when other people don’t have them?” Don’t buy that. There is no shred of truth in that understanding. Everybody is born with their share of thorns and their share of flowers. The question is: what do you plant?

Sometimes when people are going through problems, I tell them the story of the phoenix. The phoenix is the mythical bird that rises from the ashes when everything is destroyed. But the spirit isn’t destroyed. That’s the most important thing. That power, that push, that want from the heart that drives a person toward contentment—when that is not destroyed, even if everything else is destroyed, the bird will rise. And it will be more powerful than ever.
Whatever you go through in your life, you have been blessed with an incredible spirit, an incredible power that drives you towards contentment. Let it rise. Trust in your ability to understand and truly trust in the reality of hope.

Do not mistake hope for wishful thinking. There is a real hope. That’s why we exist. In the sea of impossibilities, we exist. And not only do we exist, we can think, we can feel. We have the ability to feel joy and fulfillment like nothing else. That’s our forte. When your day is filled with confusion and doubt, there is something you can do about it: you can fill that time with joy and true understanding.-Prem Rawat (Maharaji)

Humanitarian Initiatives

Los Angeles, September 2008 — The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) is donating US$250,000 to build and maintain a sustainable "Food for People" facility in the impoverished Tasarpu village in Nepal's mountainous Dhading region. The Tasarpu center will provide nutritious hot meals year-round to approximately 500 children. Premsagar Foundation Nepal, a charity seeking to relieve Nepal's poor after a ten-year period of political instability, will spearhead the project.
The launch of Food for People in Tasarpu will help the Premsagar Foundation Nepal in its goal of improving the community’s educational and economic growth, according to Dornath Neupane, General Secretary of Premsagar Foundation Nepal. Addressing the food needs of underprivileged children of low- and moderate-income residents of Tasarpu village, says Neupane, will "provide them with the opportunity to get back into mainstream society by uplifting their well-being." Organizers expect that school attendance will rise significantly, especially among the girls.

The mountainous landscape and cold climate of Tasarpu make it difficult to grow adequate crops, and over 80% of Tasarpu's residents cannot produce enough food to sustain themselves throughout the year. With little education or opportunity to advance, many resort to hard labor for private construction contractors who often disappear upon completion of projects, leaving their workers empty-handed.
The Food for People model of sustainable giving has already proven effective in reversing the poverty conditions of Bantoli, a village in Jharkhand, India, where the program is now in its third year of operation.
"The regular meals provided by Food for People in Bantoli have had a dramatic impact on the community, allowing children to return to their studies and adults to regain their economic viability," says TPRF President Linda Pascotto. "We hope that this model for a sustainable, creative solution that respects local customs and individual dignity will prove equally beneficial in Nepal."
